Engineering Change Orders (ECO)
Â
Manage engineering changes with structure—without the bureaucracy. CAD ROOMS ECOs give your team a clear path from proposal to release, keeping proposed changes, assigned reviewers, deadlines, discussions, approvals, and modified files in a single workflow. This video shows how to create an ECO, coordinate reviews through its discussion thread, inspect modified files and compare versions, track approvals, and release approved changes as new major file revisions.

Key Video Chapters
- 00:09 — Structure Engineering Changes from Proposal to Release
- 00:18 — Assign Reviewers, Set Deadlines, and Document Changes
- 00:27 — Discuss Changes and Track Approval Progress
- 00:39 — Review Modified Files and Compare Versions

How to Create and Manage ECOs
- Create an ECO. Create a new Engineering Change Order to document the proposed changes and identify the affected CAD files.
- Assign responsibilities. Add reviewers, set deadlines, and provide the information your team needs to evaluate the change.
- Discuss proposed changes. Use the ECO discussion to share feedback, clarify requirements, and coordinate the review process.
- Review changes and approvals. Inspect the affected CAD files, compare available versions, and track the review and approval status.
- Release the ECO. Once the required approvals are complete, follow the ECO release workflow to finalize the engineering change and record the resulting revision.
